I want to commend St. Hilary School for all their hard work in exceeding their goal of $10,000 for this year’s Leukemia Lymphoma Society Drive. Congratulations!
A note from Principal Donovan:
We have been very fortunate to partner with the Leukemia Lymphoma Society for the 4th consecutive year. The program that we participate in is called, “Pennies for Patients”, for three weeks our students, families, faculty, and staff are asked for donations to be given to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Last year we were named the 2nd highest fundraising school in greater Illinois. We are very proud to have donated just over $20,000.00 over the past three years, nine weeks in real time.
“Teaching children the importance of giving to others, whether time, money or energy, is one of the most valuable character traits in a child of God. It doesn’t matter if you have a lot to give or a little, it’s the heart that matters!” Giving service to others is an important part of who we are at St. Hilary and instilling this value in our children is significant. 100% of the donations go directly to LLS. This remarkable campaign celebrates cancer survivorship, supports families of cancer victims, funds research, and commemorates those lives touched by cancer.
Yesterday after our all school mass we proudly presented the LLS representatives with a check for $10,453.35. Our goal this year was $10,000.00 and we are so grateful for the amazing generosity of our students, families, and parish community for helping us to exceed our goal. We are working hard to help “Kiss Cancer Goodbye”.
