Join me for an evening devoted to young families. Come out and learn about early childcare options in our community and discuss life as a family in the 40th Ward, and the City as a whole.
When: Wednesday, July 26
Time: 7:00 pm
Where: Northside College Prep High School Auditorium
Address: 5501 N. Kedzie Avenue
Representatives from various childcare facilities in the Ward will be present, including:
There will also be representatives on hand from our neighborhood public schools to discuss available preschool programs, as well as opportunities for children grades K thru 8.
Understanding that finding the right childcare option for your family is one of the largest hurdles young families face, it is my hope that by bringing some of the available options to one place, it may help in some small way.
Recently, I introduced legislation to allow childcare centers to have exclusive loading zones in front of their business to ensure the safety of their children and to make it a little easier for parents to drop their children off. I want to hear from young families in our community about other things the City can do to make the 40th Ward, and the City in general, a better place for families.
Having raised five children in the Ward and now watching my seven grandchildren grow up here, I believe the 40th Ward is an incredible place to raise a family.
My hope is that you will come out to share your experiences and continue this conversation.
Please feel free to bring your kids along. Refreshments will be served.
