Economic Development

Pat believes that vibrant business corridors and successful local businesses are what keep a community going strong. Pat meets regularly with local business owners to find ways to make doing business in Chicago easier. He is bringing new streetscapes to our neighborhoods’ commercial corridors to make our community a destination shopping area for residents throughout the city.

Pat was instrumental in the creation of the Lincoln Bend Chamber of Commerce to revitalize the Lincoln Avenue corridor and actively recruits new businesses to set up shop in the 40th Ward. When Dominick’s shut their doors throughout the Chicago area, Pat recruited Tony’s Finer Foods to take its place on Lincoln Ave., ensuring that neighbors have a local grocery store and that the building wouldn’t remain vacant. He worked with Half Acre Brewing Company to bring its expanded brewery to the Bowmanville neighborhood.

Pat knows that enhancing economic opportunities citywide benefits members of our community. He negotiated the Wrigley Field renovation plan, which will bring thousands of lasting, good-paying jobs to Chicago and supports initiatives that make it easier for small businesses and entrepreneurs to navigate city government.
