I have been informed by the 20th District Police that on Thursday, May 3, at 11:51 pm, an incident occurred on the 1600 block of West Rosehill Drive. According to the police, a man was sitting in his car when he was approached by two males, possibly Hispanic. Both males were wearing dark colored bandannas covering their faces. One bandanna had a polka dot pattern.
The victim described the vehicle as a minivan/SUV that pulled in front of him attempting to block him in. The subjects went to both sides of the vehicle and tapped on the windows. The victim was able to drive away but as he did he heard the back window shatter. He immediately drove to the police station to report the incident. Fortunately, he sustained no injuries.
Police have recovered two shell casings at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and an increase of police presence has been implemented in the area.
The next CAPS meeting for this area is as follows:
Date: Wednesday, June 13
Time: 7:00 pm
Where: St. Gregory gym
Address: 1609 West Gregory
I will continue to work with the 20th District and provide updated information as it becomes available.
