Today, the James Dyson Foundation in coordination with the Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s office and CPS, hosted “Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day” at Amundsen High School. Over 32 elementary students from CPS schools participated in a workshop led by female Dyson engineers and high school students in Amundsen’s Dyson Design and Innovation class.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel visited the Dyson Makers Lab before participating in a short speaking program where he praised the James Dyson Foundation for its support of young aspiring engineers in CPS. Mayor Emanuel called Dyson the “gold standard” for engineering partnerships and encouraged other engineering companies to take inspiration from the James Dyson Foundation’s commitment to the students of Chicago Public Schools.
