For the first time in 10 years, the CHA will open its Family Public Housing Wait List. This is a historic opportunity for families in Chicago to take advantage of the housing CHA offers, which includes apartments in rehabilitated family developments, scattered sites and newly developed mixed-income communities.
The housing was developed as part of CHA’s Plan for Transformation, the largest and most ambitious redevedopment effort of public housing in the history of the United States.
A registration canmpaign and lottery will be held this summer to select names for the Public Housing Wait List. All those wishing to enter the lottery will be able to register online anytime between June 14th through July 9th. It will not matter when during the four weeks people register; registrations received will be treated equally in the lottery no matter when the registration was submitted.
