Protect Your Home, Money & Family

The City of Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection announced a series of free consumer fairs being offered throughout the City to help consumers deal with tough economic times.

“Unfortunately, during tough economic times, fraud and deceptive practices become prevalent. With people losing their jobs, homes to foreclosure and debt mounting, financial stability becomes the greatest concern for consumers and the public at large,” said Commissioner of the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection, Norma I. Reyes.

The workshop events will provide consumers with on-hand information on how to protect their home, their money and their family. Consumers can connect with trusted resources and agencies such the Neighborhood Housing Service of Chicago, the Federal Trade Commission, the United State Postal Inspection Service, Attorney General’s Office, Harris Bank and other local government and community agencies.
